I feel like crap!

Kingston bit Destructo and Milhouse and that is the final straw. He bit Destructo so hard that he tore a hole in his pants but he didn't break the skin. But when Milhouse tried to get Kingston away from Destructo, Kingston bit him on the hand, hard. He broke skin that time in two places.

The pooping I can take and the barking at night has pretty much stopped but I will not tolerate biting. Nipping I understand, he's a puppy and he is teething but biting a grown man so hard that it breaks the skin is not nipping.

So we've decided that it may be best to look into getting Kingston a new home. And I feel like crap about that. I really wish that I had read the puppy book before we got the puppy. I really wish that we had thought about this the whole way through before we got the puppy. Now we're in a really crappy situation.

:(

I am so sorry Stinky for messing with your mind and getting you attached to the dog and then taking him away. I am so sorry Baby for getting you a pet when you weren't ready and for having to take away your best friend. I am so sorry Kingston for getting you used to our home and then taking away from everything that you know.

God, I feel like sh*t. :(

Fleece Sheets

I am always cold, no joke, I am freezing right now. I think it is my island blood. If the temperature drops below 25 Celsius I am shivering. So given that this is the great white north and it’s winter here for almost 8 months, I am not a happy camper the majority of the time. I have a space heater and blanket in the office. My car has the heat turned on almost all the time, and at home I walk around in sweat pants, sweat shirts and the woolliest socks I can find.

But I can’t sleep in sweats, the pants bunch up around my knees and because the sweat shirts I wear are XXL, the arms then to choke me at night. So come time to crawl into bed, I am crawling into the coldest bed on the planet (or at least that’s what it feels like to me). So I found these fleece sheets that I want to buy and they are on SALE!!

I love sales!

Milhouse won’t let me get them though. It has nothing to do with the price, it’s because as cold as I am he’s always hot. He’d shovel snow in shorts if he could. So because he may sweat to death, he has vetoed my request for fleece sheets. Now he just has to deal with my constant complaining about how cold I am.

2 years ago today....

I’ve been married how long?!?

The hubby and I were dating for about 4 years before we got engaged, we were engaged for 1 year and in 19 days we will have been married for 2 years. I think someone needs to check the math though, because it feels like we have been married for way longer.

To me it feels like we’ve been married for like 45 years! And I don’t mean this in a bad way. It just feels like I’ve known him all my life, and according to him I almost practically just about have. That doesn’t meant that there aren’t times when I feel like whacking him in the head with a wet noodle because he forgot to clean the lint trap or lost all my clothes (see previous laundry related posts) but it feels like we’ve been together since time. I know for a fact that we are not one of those overly affectionate couples; we don’t keep track of the anniversary of our first kiss or have a ‘special’ song or anything. Goodness – to this day I am not sure when we started dating. I know it was a long time ago but I have no idea on the exact date. In fact a lot of people think that we are arguing a lot of the time but we aren’t, it’s just the way that we talk to each other. It’s not rude or demeaning or anything, we’re just loud. OK – I’m just loud, and he’s the reserved type. He doesn’t really say much, just kind of lets me go off on a tangent about whatever and will comment when he is sure I am done. I don’t think that we’re opposites, but we’re not the same, we just seem to fit together. We hug, we fight, we laugh, we know each other, and yes we have our moments where we finish each others sentences or say things the same. I don’t think that we’ve experienced some sort of metamorphosis where we’ve turned into each other because we spend so much time together. We’re just us.

I know that this anniversary won’t be filled with mushiness, and a whole bunch of lovey dovey sentiments: I’ll probably order a pizza for him and he’ll probably fold some laundry for me, nothing super fancy. But that’s just us. I think as you get older the mushy stuff isn’t as important as just spending time together. And that’s what I mean about us being married forever, we’ve been doing that since day one. I love him, he loves me and we’ve been doing this for forever, and will probably keep doing this for forever.

* I apologize if this has turned into an overly mushy post, I didn’t intend it to be. *

Lint Trap

A couple of nights ago I decided to help hubby with the laundry. I wasn’t out of the goodness of my heart, it was because I had no clean underwear and there were clothes sitting in the washer for days. So I jumped in and re-washed the stuff in the washer, and put them into the dryer to dry. When I went to clean out the lint catcher I was very surprised. I was full. So full in fact that it was stuck on the dryer. I cleaned it out and went upstairs to discuss our linty clothes with hubby. Guess what I found out, he wasn’t cleaning the lint trap. He thought that it was something that had to be done once a month!! Dude, so all those times when I’ve yelled down the stairs to remind you to clean the lint trap, you thought I was just talking for the sake of talking. No, I was reminding of something that could be potentially very dangerous. Full lint traps can cause fires!! Geez, I don’t know when I turned into my mother but I think I may have to take over the laundry again.

Just beachy!

This weekend, the baybee went on his first road trip!

Hubby, Auntie, Stinky & I loaded up the car with all the beach things that we would need and headed out. We picked up a bucket of chicken on the way there, so we didn't have to worry about food. And we had a cooler of water and juice in the trunk. The weather was awesome, no rain at all, even though it was pouring on the highway as we drove up. The kiddies had a super fun time both on the sand and in the water. It is definitely something that I want to do some more this summer.

I did have some issues though. I wish that the beach was cleaner, there were pieces of all sorts of garbage that people left behind and super sleuth baybee was able to find them all. I can understand bottle caps but really empty prescription containers. Are people that lazy that they can't walk 4 feet to garbage can, they would rather just dump out their prescriptions on the sand?

Also, I wish there was some way to deal the seagulls themselves. They were everywhere and they were quite bold. They would walk right up to you and try to snatch your food. Plus, if you leave your stuff alone they would swoop in on it as one big group and ransack your stuff to get at the food that you may have. At one point we saw them go INTO someone’s bag and pull out a bag of potato chips. This wasn’t a half open bag with the potato chips lying out exposed. It was a shopping bag that was folded over, that a group of ten birds went over to and poked and prodded at until they managed to get it open and pull out the chips. The seagulls were running the beach. I know that there isn't much that I can do about the seagulls, but if anyone knows a good way for me to keep them away please let me know.

Other than that it was a really good day!

When mom’s away, the boys will play

Yesterday my son wasn’t feeling the greatest, so he got to stay home from the daycare with his daddy. They were going to have a daddy/baybee day. Now I am not a neat freak (well not anymore) by any means. I understand that life with a 13 month old is messy. There are cheerios under my couch, my bookcase is no longer in alphabetical order, and my pots & pans will never be stacked neatly again, these are all things that I accept and live with.

So when I left ‘my boys’ at home yesterday morning, the house wasn’t the neatest. I didn’t make the beds, the breakfast dishes weren’t done and there were clothes in the washer that needed to go into the dryer (I think they are still in there, come to think of it). So I wasn’t expecting a pristine house when I got home. But boy was I surprised!

When I walked in the door it looked like a tornado went through the house. There were baking dishes in the living room, the baybee was running around in his P.J.’s with a hairbrush in hand, and my hubby looked frazzled. And don’t even get me started on the condition on the toy area.

Now I am not saying that the little man, was malnourished and exhausted. His dad did a very good job with him. He was fed, had numerous diaper changes, and was overall a very happy (still slightly sicky) little boy. They did a whole bunch of activities throughout the day and even went out to a fish & chips place and picked up dinner. I wasn’t expecting the mess to be as big as it was but I guess that is what happens when mommy is away.

I found my clothes!!

They were in the washing machine.

By the time I discovered that they were in the washing machine they needed to be washed again. But at least I know where they are.

Woohoo for me, bad for hubby. He has to re-wash everything!

Where are my clothes?!?!

OK, so in an attempt to help me out with my housework, the hubby has started doing the laundry. Which in theory is great, he gets to help out more and I get some of my time freed up to clean something else.

But here's the problem ~ I can't find any of my clothes. And when I ask him where something is he gets this blank look and sort of dozes off. I know that he's washed them, I just can't figure out where he's put them.

I have a feeling that I have to take over the laundry again, it's either that or go shopping with hubby's credit card!
